The scale and polish increased, but the depth of interaction changed. Sometimes the most valuable part of these events was the unplanned, human connection.
“are gonna find themselves in a tough position later.” is such mafioso rhetoric.
And the bit about how "consistency" is a core design principle, when this has been, and I say this as a 35 year Apple user, the least visually consistent OS Apple has put out in the modern era.... FOH.
"They explained that what we are experiencing right now is the exact same phenomenon that happened during the last massive design shift: the move to iOS 7."
That is weird to bring up as in my view iOS never recovered from the iOS 7 transition (UX). Wait works, users have no choice, they have to adapt. It does not matter if Liquid Glass is good or bad.
> Here is the harsh truth that many developers (and designers) struggle to accept: nobody opens your app to admire your custom buttons.
The only developers and designers who think this are APPLE THEMSELVES. There has never been a computer UI in all of computer history that puts MORE focus on the UI.
> To achieve this, your control layer needs to get out of the way.
I have yet to see any interface in liquid glASS that follows this. _Every single one_ has the controls so prominent as to be a major distraction from the content.
If Apple really can't see that the core of this design system is fundamentally rotten, there is no hope that they will ever improve. There's now no good reason whatsoever to use any native Apple UI, just use the web, where you face none of these problems.
Wait, you mean putting giant drop shadows around every toolbar button that makes them visually float above everything, including a window’s content, distracts and draws attention to the toolbar buttons?
Users and developers have been reporting almost *nonstop* that the foundation of Liquid Glass isn’t solid. There are still tons of glaring visual glitches and usability/accessibility issues
How is Apple’s team *this* out of touch with reality??
Fighting the system usually slows you down more than it helps.

Apple’s approach has shifted, intimate developer labs replace the grand WWDC spectacle.
